Popsicle Bird Feeders

This craft is one that I actually did last summer at a science camp. We used it as an art project for ages 6-12. I would say that it worked really well and the kids had fun the whole time! For directions on how to put this feeder together, visit Create-Celebrate-Explore.

We used popsicle sticks (of course), Elmer’s glue, and yarn. For the bird food, I chose a patio mix that contained already hulled seed. This type of bird seed will prevent weeds from popping up in the yard. Instead of spending extra money on hulled seed, you can sterilize the bird food to prevent it from sprouting. For more information on sterilizing your bird seed, visit Wild Birds Forever.
